Tony Blair Video

As some of you may know I run an Internet Video production company. Last night I filmed a seminar in London with former prime minister Tony Blair. He is still an excellent and inspiring speaker and a really nice guy, it was a real privilege to meet him.

Adsense Is Dead

Every week I hear someone saying that Adsense is dead, you have
probably heard the same. But let me tell you that although I
don’t make a huge sum of money from Adsense I still make a few
hundred dollars a month from Adsense, and by the way I don’t have
hundreds of sites. Most of my revenue comes from only 4 sites !!

A friend of mine, Stephen Crooks  started a very popular thread
on the Warrior Forum $100 a day Adsense challenge

The challenge was to create a Wordpress blog from scratch that
would make $100 a day in 3 months.

This was a tall order, he failed. By the end of the 3 months his
blog was up to $20 a day, but hey that’s $680 a month !! Two
months later his blog was up to $40 a day, not bad…

Stephen has put together a blueprint of his system, it is what I
use for all my Adsense sites. It’s an easy way of generating a
few hundred bucks a month on auto pilot.

The Conduit Method

I have a lot of mini review sites that are doing quite well. I
build a very basic web site, a kind of fact sheet with a 200 word
mini review. Each site has between 5 – 10 reviews. The best part
is I can get a site like this up very quickly.  I have about 30
of these sites up now and although some sites get very few sales,
most of my sites get a few sales a week, it soon adds up. I have
sites that I have not touched for over a year and are still
getting sales every month.

And I have to tell you  that the best part is that you
don’t need lots of traffic to make consistent sales each month.
Most of my sites only get 5 to 10 unique visits a day, but I
still get sales from these sites each week.

I learned all this from The Conduit Method by Chris Rempel.

http://sarahstaar.com/R/Conduit-Method.php

It is one of the simplest and most effective ways to make money
as an affiliate that I know of, whether you are an experienced
guru or even if you are a complete newbie you can benefit from
this…..

The Conduit Method is an ideal system to give an outsource
person, I am in the process of outsourcing my  Conduit web sites
so I can get 20 built a month. If I only get 1 or 2  x $47 sales
per site per month, well you do the math.

Right now you can get the The Conduit Method for only $15 so it
is fairly cheap. I would also recommend his other product  – Site
Layouts That Sell.

E books & My X Printer

For the last few weeks I have been trying out Windows new
operating system – Windows 7. I have to say that it is a big
improvement on Vista and would recommend you upgrade if you are
using Vista.

It’s much slicker and faster thank XP or Vista and just works !!!
When I built my new PC all I did was install Windows 7 , no
motherboard drivers or anything , wow it just all worked, why
isn’t all software like this. I think it is being  officially
released to the public later in the year.

I don’t know about you but when I buy an ebook I like to print it
out and put it in a ring binder. I find reading from paper is
much easer for me. But disaster , last week my trusty HP laser
printer died on me half way through printing out the 151 page
book The Affiliate Black Book,

http://sarahstaar.com/R/Affiliate-black-book.php

The engineer told me that to repair it would cost more than a new
printer. This printer was about the size of a small photocopier,
just a big door stop. I got a  friend to help me put it outside
next to the garbage , it only took two hours before somebody had
taken it, I guess thats London for you !!

The big question I have now is….. do I buy another laser
printer or do I buy an ebook reader ? I have heard that the new
ebook readers are really like reading off paper, I guess the next
thing is to go to the shops and try one out…..

14 Days to Total Time Control

Well, seeing as how so many of you seemed to like the previous thoughts about being focussed and getting things done I thought I would offer a few more thoughts just to round things off.

Well firstly, for those that are interested and in case you hadn’t noticed, what I have been talking about is really Time Management and how you can and should use that most precious resource of yours – your own time – to best effect.

If you want to get into it deeper then I would highly recommend 14 Days to Total Time Control By Martin Avis

http://sarahstaar.com/recommends/totaltimecontrol.php

But for me the most important part of Time Management is how you use that scarcest resource you have, scarcer even than money, to achieve your own objectives.

Managing Time and those annoying interruptions that seem to take all day is fine, but you need to keep focussed on the Big Picture .

Like – where are you going with your life ?

What do you really want to achieve ?

Is money all you really want ? Once you’ve got it what then ?

Once you’ve got past the house, the fast car, the yacht, the holidays and got your golf handicap down – what then ?

Who are or could be or should be the really important people in your life ?

So the first step in Time Management is writing down what your goals and objectives are – yes write them down – and then stick them on the wall.

Next break them down into sub goals and easy steps – your route map to achieving your big goals.

Again write them down – stick them on the wall.

And now comes the really cunning part – whenever you feel bored, lacking enthusiasm, overloaded with minutiae and plain old cr*p – just look at the wall and ask yourself

“So what is the best use of my time right now ?”

and get on with it !!

It has worked just fine for me and it will work just fine for you….

Getting things done

One of the biggest challenges I find when sitting at my computer is actually getting things done. You may have a plan to build a website, promote it with adwords, do some split testing and all those good things – but when you sit down at your computer and start to read your e-mails then you start looking at the special offers, start buying stuff, you know what I’m talking about ?

probably been there yourself.

And now with the advent of instant messaging and Skype things have only got worse. I find the best thing to do is write a To Do List. What I do is decide upon a monthly plan, A weekly plan, and a daily plan.

I have a kind of target to work towards and that makes life easier. I know that my monthly plan is to build say 10 affiliate websites and that is what I can work towards. Then when I sit down on a Monday morning I will write a to-do list for the day, that way I will not waste my day on forums, reading sales pages of products I probably won’t buy, and chatting on Skype!

When you have a to-do list for the day it’s amazing how much work you can get done. I can usually get twice the amount of work completed when I have a clearly laid out to-do list for the day.

Your monthly to-do list can be sort of a target, things you would like to get done this month but I find that the daily to-do list of things that I’m definitely going to do that day is the real driver.

The weekly and monthly To Do List I use mainly to keep focussed on what my objective is for this month, I find it really easy to get sidetracked by the hundred of other things that come in during the week and demand my attention, you know the little “dramas” that take place, fixing things that have gone wrong and that shouldn’t have……

The little things that creep up on you and steal your time away…..

Making money online

Making money online has always been a very private affair for me.
I sit at my computer late at night (like many of you do I
suspect) tapping away, setting up Adwords campaigns, or building
blogs. I then check my sales every morning when I get up.

However, recently I started to go out to Internet marketing
meetings and events where I started to meet real people who make
money online. Not all the people I meet make money, many have
just as much knowledge as me or even more in some cases but just
don’t seem to be to make any money online.

I always thought this was strange until I went to a couple of
Internet marketing seminars  – Frank Garons  More Traffic Bigger
List workshop  & Mark Anastasis Traffic Generation Summit. These
were great events but I have to say if I wasn’t making money
online I wouldn’t know where to start because when you attend one
of these events you are bombarded with system after system, sort
of an information overload.

It soon became apparent after talking to a few people that they
didn’t know where to start, so instead of taking action they
would buy yet another e-book or another course but would still
never take action, its like buying something was a susbtitute for
taking real action
.
So ………my thought is this

You’ve got to concentrate on the one thing !

and then……..

Start with the one thing you’ll feel most comfortable starting
out with !

If you are a good writer, then that could be article marketing.
If you are dyslexic like me you might want to concentrate your
efforts on something like affiliate marketing with Google
Adwords, or video marketing.

But it all boils down to taking action and concentrating on one
thing. Only buy a course or e-book if you know you’re going to
take action after reading the book. Read the book go through
chapter by chapter and implement what it says. This is what I do
, I have a very strict rule that I do not buy a new book or
course until I have completely tried out what the course or book
outlined.

At Frank Garons  More Traffic Bigger List workshop I filmed
several interviews with people at the event and asked them what
their top Internet marketing tips were. The responses were very
interesting because nearly everybody said the most important
thing was to concentrate on one thing and take action. I will
include a link to these videos in the next newsletter, they make
very interesting viewing.

So remember concentrate on the one thing….
